Entry Level Mechanical Engineer
We are hiring Entry Level Mechanical Engineers for our client in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates with an engineering degree.
This position requires eligibility to obtain a U.S. security clearance. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible for a security clearance.
Responsibilities

Lead developmental projects as a System Integration Engineer supporting the build, verification, and delivery of military vehicles.

Plan physical and functional integration activities by developing and maintaining prototype/mockup vehicle build schedules.

Develop, maintain, and execute prototype fabrication and build plans.

Assist with prototype hardware procurement.

Initiate shop work orders.
-
Coordinate SSE assistance as needed to support prototype shop activities.
-
Act as the primary interface between subsystem engineering teams and the prototype build shop.

Perform vehicle-level system integration, verification, and issue resolution.
-
Foster a cohesive build team environment among prototype shop mechanics, subsystem engineers, and system engineers.

Direct mechanics during subsystem assembly using applicable models and drawings.

Monitor Engineering Bill of Materials (BOM) maturity and Engineering Release Plan execution.

Track material receipts and resolve “late-to-need” issues.

Generate Engineering Problem Reports documenting fabrication, installation, or functionality issues identified during prototype builds.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.

Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
Additional Information / Desired Experience

Previous experience with ground combat vehicles preferred.

Ability to climb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles.

Must be able to pass ASR (Anthropometric Size Requirement) testing for confined spaces.

Demonstrated ability to apply continuous improvement processes and methodologies.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; able to work independently and in a team environment.

Willingness to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required
Pay: $34–$37/hour (W2), depending on experience
