Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Systems and Electronics Planning 4 Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to design and apply electrical components across multiple vehicle and mobility platforms, including packaging ECUs & sensors, routing wire harnesses, and developing related components to ensure quality, performance, cost, and timing requirements are met for each electronics system.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, the person in this role will support the Systems and Electronics Planning 4 department's objective of designing and applying electrical components across multiple vehicle and mobility platforms.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Collaborate with related stakeholders (internal and external) in cross-functional teams to design packaging structure, prepare drawings, plan and manage schedule for complex engineering problems.

  • Join, engage, and lead wire harness part development to meet targets for cost, mass, performance, and schedule with high quality, efficiency, and an optimization mindset from project start through start of production.

  • Excellent, clear, and frequent communication with internal and external stakeholders (management team, project leaders, manufacturing, suppliers, other design departments, TMC Japan, etc.).

  • Develop 3D design data and create 2D drawings using CATIA V5 and CR5000.

  • Use the TBP (Toyota Business Practice) process to break down problems, propose solutions, and contribute to obeya (large room) meetings with other commodity engineers, WH supplier engineers, and vehicle assembly members.

  • Participate in team activities to resolve development problems. Need to be able to work with design engineers and suppliers to identify the problem root cause, clearly present the results of findings to the leader, and take action for resolution.

  • A bachelor’s degree that provides a foundation in information systems, computer science, business, or a related field

  • Academic, internship, project, or early-career exposure to process management, operations, workflow support, or program coordination

  • Familiarity with application or work management tools used to organize, track, or support work

  • Understanding of how digital platforms, multimedia systems, or back-end tools are used to manage and deliver content or communications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain ideas clearly to different audiences

  • Foundational analytical and problem-solving skills used to help evaluate priorities and support decision-making

  • Ability to collaborate with diverse and global team members, including those in different regions or time zones

  • Willingness to work onsite as required and provide occasional after-hours availability to support global collaboration
