The EHS Coordinator will be responsible to plan, implement, and oversee FANUC America’s Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, their enforcement, and associated training for FANUC America employees and contract workers, focusing on health and safety aspects.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct regular inspections/audits of operations to ensure compliance with all EHS related regulations and FANUC America policies. Develop scorecards to quantify compliance.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and corrective actions on safety incidents to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Participate in reviewing, updating, or creating Job Hazard Analyses (JHA).
  • Presentation and dissemination of EHS training materials.
  • Audit, inspect, and replenish, safety equipment including, but not limited to first aid kits, eye wash stations, fire extinguishers, lockout/tagout devices, and rigging equipment.
  • Assists with the following:
    • Conducting monthly safety committee meetings.
    • Coordination of hazardous and non-hazardous waste material disposal and retain records.
    • Preparation and submittal of chemical surveys, inventories, and other government requests for information such as SARA Title III Tier II.
    • Maintaining ISO 14001 certification and periodic audits.
    • Leadership of FANUC America’s first responder team.
    • Maintaining Respiratory Protection Program.
    • Coordination and execution of Emergency Response Plan drills.
  • Regular travel between local buildings, with occasional out-of-state travel (less than 5%).

Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environment, Health and Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field, or combination of equivalent education and related experience.
  • Strong familiarity with federal and state regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA) and working familiarity with consensus standards (NFPA, ANSI, RIA/A3, etc.)
  • Willingness to complete training to become a Laser Safety Officer.
  • Contribute to revision, updating, or creation of EHS related Policy and Procedures and trainings.
  • Assist with any regulatory agency inspections and communication with applicable governmental agencies.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to drive throughout the organization’s service area for business as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of EHS experience.
  • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour card.
  • Certified Safety Professional or equivalent safety certifications.
  • Experience with the ISO certification process.
  • Manufacturing/Assembly experience, particularly industrial robot safety and electrical safety experience.
