Minimum Qualifications
  • Masters degree in a health care discipline, education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years experience in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating programs for training health care students to conduct research.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative partnerships with academic, healthcare and industrial researchers.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a highly interactive environment.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ed.D., Ph.D., M.D. or D.O. preferred.
  • College-level teaching experience.

Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.
Position Details
Position Purpose
Reporting directly to the Associate Dean of Education Programs, the Director of Research Training will lead the design, development, implementation and assessment of the research training program for undergraduate medical students in the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. The implemented program will organize the training of medical students in research methods including biostatistics, study design, and compliance training. The Director of Research Training will also be responsible for medical students who have chosen capstone projects focusing on bench, clinical or translational research.
