Job Description



The Bureau of Construction Codes is filling a vacant Plumbing Inspector E11.

This position is responsible for the inspection of new plumbing installations to determine compliance with applicable laws, rules, and standards, to order necessary corrections when violations are identified, and to regulate persons performing plumbing work. Responsibilities also include providing technical assistance to plumbing inspectors employed locally, disseminating information to permit holders, attending training seminars, maintaining records and reports.

Required Education and Experience

Education
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
Experience
Six years of experience in the plumbing trade, including two years equivalent to a journey-level plumber.

Additional Requirements and Information

Upon appointment, individuals must meet the requirements of Act 407 of 2016 and become registered as a plumbing inspector and plan reviewer.
Possession of a journey or master plumber's license issued by the Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license.
