St. Michael Catholic School is seeking a fifth/sixth grade teacher with a strong Math background for the 2026-2027 school year. Qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher in Education. Valid teaching certificate issued by the Michigan Department of Education. Archdiocese of Detroit Certified Catechist - current certificate, or willingness to obtain. Eagerness to continuously enrich teaching expertise through engagement in professional development opportunities. Additionally, the candidate must complete the Protecting Gods Children training and other compliance needs. The ideal candidate should be prepared to:Provide rigorous instruction in alignment with Catholic teachings. Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum and educational standards Work as a member of a supportive faculty Collaborate with colleagues on a regular basis. Strive for academic excellence through the use of robust teaching methods, student engagement and technology integration. Implement best pedagogical practices,Demonstrate competence in the subject areas taught. Provide innovative and differentiated instruction to best reach all levels of learners and learning styles. Establishes a consistent disciplinary approach which sets high standards for student behavior, promotes self-direction and confidence, and manages inappropriate behavior effectively. Maintain a positive relationship with parents, students, and colleagues through regular communication Provide a caring and nurturing classroom environment where students feel safe to learn and grow academically, socially, and spiritually. Completes additional administrative, operational, and professional responsibilities as needed.
