Job Summary
Acrisure is seeking a summer Health and Welfare Compliance intern to support our growing compliance team remotely. This role will assist with Form 5500 health and welfare filings, client data review, compliance tracking, document organization, and related administrative support.
The intern will work closely with the Acrisure Compliance Solutions team to help ensure timely and accurate completion of annual filings and client deliverables. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in employee benefits, compliance, legal support, insurance, or business operations.
Responsibilities
Health and Welfare Compliance Support
- Assist with preparation and organization of Form 5500 health and welfare filings.
- Review client-provided information for completeness and accuracy.
- Track filing status, missing information, deadlines, and follow-up items.
- Help maintain organized records and documentation for compliance projects.
Client and Internal Support
- Communicate with internal team members regarding filings.
- Assist with basic client follow-up and administrative correspondence, as needed.
- Support the compliance team with data entry, document review, and project tracking.
- Escalate questions or inconsistencies to the appropriate compliance team member.
Research and Project Assistance
- Assist with health and welfare plan compliance projects, including ERISA-related filing support.
- Help review plan information, carrier documents, Schedule A information, and other filing materials.
- Support process improvements for annual filing workflows.
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with deadlines.
- Excellent organization, communication, and follow-up skills.
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets, documents, and online systems.
- Ability to handle confidential client and employee benefit information professionally.
- Interest in employee benefits, compliance, legal studies, HR, insurance, or business preferred.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma required and current college student or recent graduate preferred.
- Coursework or interest in business, human resource, legal studies, accounting, finance, insurance, or compliance.
- Prior office, administration, data entry, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams preferred.
Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
