Pre-Employment Requirements
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all applicable pre-employment screenings and verification of eligibility to work in the United States, in accordance with applicable laws, civil service rules, and collective bargaining agreements.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

Maintains routine account ledgers and files; reconciles accounts; processes unpaid and overdue accounts; performs routine data entry, makes journal entries and performs basic accounting and related work as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assists Finance personnel with the creation of requisitions, manual journal entries, vouchers, and receipts to ensure debits and credits are made to the proper general ledger account; prepares collection accounts, as needed; and maintains files.
  2. Assists with reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
  3. Checks general ledger accounts; analyzes, compiles, and organizes pertinent data for entry and review.
  4. Analyzes ledger activity and assists in making corrections and adjustments, as deemed necessary.
  5. Prepares routine reports of transferred accounts; maintains records and lists of accounts by classification.
  6. Answer telephones and assist other personnel and the public as necessary.
  7. Performs data entry, forms, correspondence, or vouchers, as needed.


MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma
  • 1 (one) year of experience in basic accounting or finance or an associate’s degree in business or accounting, may be substituted.
  • Working knowledge of the application of bookkeeping principles to routine accounting transactions, and the ability to apply these principles in keeping accounting records.
  • Working knowledge of office methods, procedures, and equipment.
  • Ability to make arithmetical computations quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
