What awaits you:
Kautex Detroit offers 3 DOL Registered apprentice tracks: Electrician, Machine Repair, and Machinist. Important information to know:
This is a 4-year program mixed with on-the-job training (OJT) and classroom instruction at Macomb Community College
Each apprentice is partnered with a journeyperson who is a subject matter expert in their field
Apprentices will be paid for their full time OJT and Kautex will pay for their tuition to Macomb
Each apprentice must take at least one class per semester
Apprentices will become members of the UAW
Apprentices will be Kautex employees and will be able to take advantage of available benefits (medical, dental, vision, retirement, etc.)
What you'll need to succeed:
- Must be at least 18-years-old
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must possess a high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED) equivalency or other high school equivalency credential
- Must be able to pass a fit-for-duty physical and a drug screening
Must be able to pass an aptitude test
All qualified candidates will be interviewed by the Joint Apprentice Training Committee
