The Millwright is responsible for installing, assembling, and, when necessary, dismantling machinery,conveyor systems, pulleys, mechanical clutches, gear boxes, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.The Millwright will transport and locate machines and equipment to the desired location according tofloor plans, or as directed using fork lifts, hoists, winches, cranes and other equipment. Assemblemachines or equipment from their component parts. The Millwright must understand how a machinefunctions to assemble and disassemble it properly. This may involve knowledge of electronics,pneumatics, and computer systems. The Millwright will use complex instruction books that detail theassembly of the machinery and use tools such as levels, welding machines, and hydraulic torquewrenches. The Millwright will also use micrometers and other precision measuring devices to achieve theextreme tolerances required. On large projects, the use of cranes is common. Work requires practical skilland knowledge and journey-level skill as a millwright. Candidate must be able to perform incidental tasksas required to complete the larger task.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Minimum of 4 years of combined experience and training similar to that required in a bona fideapprenticeship program as a Millwright; or a U.S. Department of Labor Completion of ApprenticeshipCertificate as a Millwright; or eight (8) years of documented Millwright experience; or five (5) years ofdocumented Millwright experience and three (3) years in a related trade
  • Ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to work any shift and work overtime, includingdaily, weekends and holidays as required
  • Experience as a millwright in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work from layout plans, blueprints, drawings or other specifications to determine workprocedures
  • Ability and knowledge to dismantle machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other handtools
  • Ability and knowledge in welding including arc, acetylene and hydrogen
  • Ability to properly move machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks
  • Ability and knowledge to properly use tools and equipment such as drill presses, power saws, chainfalls, jacks, skids, slings, burning torches, and other types of portable and hand tools
  • Ability to clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery
  • Perform incidental tasks as required to complete the larger task
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to provide mechanical support to manufacturing operations to locate and diagnose trouble inmechanical systems or equipment
  • Ability to complete required preventive maintenance at defined intervals on all mechanicalequipment
  • Ability to perform tasks historically assigned to other mechanical classifications (i.e., pipefitter,machine repair) andother duties as required to meet the needs of the department and company
  • Strong computer skills
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems
  • Knowledge of G-Suite
